Did the Iranian Zargros farmers carry J2? Or did they just carry J1 and J*? I know the Caucasus Hunter Gatherer Kotias carried J2.
I definitely think J2 is now from.the Caucasus, but for the past 4,000+ years it's been a dominant haplogroup in the East Mediterranean. As dominant as it is in the Caucasus.
There's no doubt it was a very frequent haplogroup in the Ancient civilizations arpund the East Mediterranean, European and West Asian included.

Yes, not only Neolithic, but they had J2 since Hunter Gatherers.
