Interesting video. The guy however doesn't say if he thinks that a 'legitimate' traditional kung-fu master could take on an expert of a proven combat sport like MMA or Muay Tai. Notice I say 'traditional' bc Sanda, which is legit and proven, is a modern Chinese combat sport, even if it is sometimes presented as 'kung fu'

I think Traditional Chinese Martial arts are beautiful and they are a valuable cultural heritage. What I have a problem with is that they are presented as an effective combat and self-defense system and because of that many people, especially in the West, join the kwoons because they believe that they will be able to defend themselves. This is not honest and can lead to potentially dangerous situations. It is like you want to sell a Ford-T and claim it can run as fast as a modern car. For instance I watched Georgian sword dancing, and I was amazed by the skill and agility of the dancers. But nobody claimed that if you learn Georgian Sword Dancing you will become a warrior. TCMs aren't completely ineffective if they are integrated with other proven systems and practiced with realistic sparring. Unfortunately that rarely happens, especially in Western McDojos. When I was a teen I practiced in two KF schools and I found them completely useless. We were doing only forms and kicking in the air, and nobody even knew the meaning of the moves that were taught. I then practiced some boxing, and while not perfect, I realized how effective it is.
