WHAT ABOUT THE INSTINCT OF SURVIVAL DO YOU THINK ITS A UNCONSCIOUS BEHAVIOR JUST TO SURVIVE AND REPRODUCE OR THEY FEAR DEATH AND PAIN

With humans or over all (incl. all living species/forms)?

Generally speaking: I could think it is atleast partly instinct .... just because evolution has naturally supported that kind of behavior (more than opposite anyway).

With species like humans (able think and learn: case and effect thoughts/relationships) ... it can be both.

Only humans are self-aware..

Till few years ago ( 1990 ) it was believed that chimpanzees, bonobos, orangutans, dolphins, elephants had self-awareness .... but recently the test called MIRROR TEST .(.The test gauges self-awareness by determining whether an animal can recognize its own reflection in a mirror as an image of itself) has been passed by other animals.... including fish ( small tropical fish ) and pigeons... and ants...

In 2015, scientists published research that suggests some ants can recognize themselves when looking in a mirror. When viewing other ants through glass, ants didn’t divert from their normal behaviors.

However, their behavior did change when they were put in front of a mirror. The ants would move slowly, turn their heads back and forth, shake their antennae, and touch the mirror. They’d retreat and re-approach the mirror. Sometimes they would groom themselves.


Now nobody takes mirror test seriously to claim that is proved the self-aware of animals...

IF YOU THREATEN AN ANIMAL WE WILL FEEL FEAR MAYBE RUN OR TRY TO FIGHT JUST LIKE HUMANS BUT HUMANS AND ANIMALS DO IT FOR DIFFERENT REASONS
FOR EXAMPLE: ANIMALS MAY RUN OR FIGHT BECAUSE IT IS THEIR INSTINCT TO SURVIVE YET IF THEY REACH OLD AGE THEY WOULDN'T FIGHT DEATH HUMANS FIGHT DEATH BECAUSE THEY FEAR THE AFTERLIFE (?) I SEE A LOT OF OLD PEOPLE FEARING DEATH THAT'S WHY I THINK RELIGION IS BAD THEY CONTROL PEOPLE WITH FEAR

Only those humans who believes afterlifes. All humans do not do that (anymore anyway) ... and still most of humans will prefer/choose life over death. Naturally; as our animal senses says so.

I commented this thread just to say how I generally think. I'm not keen to start any discuss about religions or believes any deeper. For sure I have opinion about those topic as well, but others will (and can) have their own. None of my business.

I wonder are those same people angry as well ... as those animals have not developed any religions to cover their own feelings and fears?

You are under a completely wrong misconception. Humans have not "developed religion" to cover their own feelings and fears... this is a total lie with absolutely no evidence.

People become "religious" (if you want to call faith in God "religion") when they experience God supernaturally. This is why you have many atheists who all of a sudden begin to believe in God. Also, you say that people fear the afterlife when they are religious... that's actually not true at all. I don't fear death or the afterlife at all... in fact. I don't fear death at all, and I am looking forward to the afterlife. I wish it could start tomorrow! Because being with God would be the best of the best experience.

You rot, stink the place and provide nourishment for worms and other critters. You won't feel a thing. It's like when going to sleep. You would have no sense of time. Basically, you would space out forever, unless the particles that made you magically realign and cause you to get born again. In which case, you would also have no perception and memory of the time that elapsed.
