The religion has nothing to do with our internal relationship, Serbs are Slavs of course and orthodox and that is it. Being Russians we care less about others and anything outside Russia. Everyone has their own problems and interests. Russian government cares about Serbia because of geopolitics and orthodox Russian Christians care about Serbs because of orthodoxy religion, but an average Russian does not give a crap about anything and anyone. We are realists and we care about ourselves. I hope I made it clear for you.

Russian nationalists are a very vague concept. Where there are 2 Russian nationalists, there are 3 opinions. Among them, pan-Slavists, Nordicists, even Germanophiles and others can be represented. Most often, they are a typical embodiment of the “divide and conquer” strategy in practice, and the leaders of these “Nazis” are completely non-Slavs. The Russians are heterogeneous enough to be united in the shape of a skull.
Ordinary Russians respect Serbs very much, as brothers in faith and the only Europeans who did not join Hitler.
The attitude towards the Croats is neutral.
99% of Russians do not pay attention to the color of their eyes and hair.

Russian government and Russian people are two very different things. Ask the average Russian to find Serbia on a map.

My impression is that Russians know quite little of both, but that Serbs by some are maybe a little romanticized in a sense.
