Cult films you didn't like

Scarface is another one of those movies you love as a teenager (when style and action is everything) but are less impressed by as an adult, or ought to be.

Okay. Since then I've seen a lot of films that I hadn't watched before. I'm adding Deer Hunter to this list. Overall I found it to be just plain tedious, with far too many unnecessary scenes which greatly extend the runtime and add nothing of substance to the plot and to the characters themselves.

Whole Scream/Scary Movie saga. I don't understand how it was so popular, I swear those were trashiest movies I've seen, even Bollywood movies beat it.

I would agree but Taxi Driver is a fairly cult as it was originally rated X and wasn't really appreciated until it's VHS release much later.

Not a cult movie though, it was a blockbuster series.

Cult Movies = Low budget or limited releases. You usually only got to see them in theaters as part of a double feature or at midnight movies. Some blockbusters/big budget wide releases do have cult followings but they are usually because the movie is bad and only a handful of people liked it.

Block Buster:

Even though the remake was low budget, it had a wide release and was backed by a major studio.

Define "like". I watched Pulp Fiction around 3-4 yrs ago and I remembered all the hype , and everyone saying it was the best film ever, and maybe Tarantinos best. I liked it, I was dissapointed though, bcs I didnt love it, just liked it. The hype probs ruined it for me,I guess I was just expecting something else. Its a good movie though.
