San Roque (Cádiz, Andalusia) in the background Gibraltar.
The town of San Roque was the place where the population of Gibraltar had resided since 21 May 1706. The population of Gibraltar was invited to continue living under British rule after the siege by British troops. The peasants who refused settled in the surroundings of the Hermitage of San Roque and founded the current city of San Roque. They say that only 47 remained in Gibraltar.
