This sexy ass is the closest to the average Dominican griffe IMO. We would call him moreno. He is haitiano though.

Arlenis Sosa would be another griffe. She seems a bit more SSA than the previous guy though. Probably 70%-75% SSA (the other guy was more more like 60%-65%)

The average DR griffe is probably like ~65% SSA
These people look black to my eyes. To me a mulatto is someone less then 30%

The most populated parts back then were also Santo Domingo/surrounding and Santiago/Central Cibao. But many whites were also in the Bani-Azua corridor as well as in places like San Juan and Barahona. San Juan was founded by Canarians and some other towns in the Southwest and along the border. Samana was founded by Canarian families too as well as Sabana de la Mar in the East.

Bu yeah, most whites before the Wars were concentrated in Santo Domingo like you said previously. Then it was in the Cibao. The capital was always the most populated part until right before our Independence. Cibao (Santiago ) took that place after the Wars. My guess is that the nation was around 62%-65% euro on average with a few points higher taino back then.

They are black for our standards too. We call them morenos. However, morenos can be more euro-admixed mulattoes as well. My sister looks like Celines Toribio (I swear that she does and as a matter of fact she used to be taken for her when thinner back in the day and I am not exaggerating) and she is la morena de la familia. That's her nickname in the family.

Senegal too and Angola also depends on place, tribe or ethnicity. The same happens with some Amerindians (some are dark) and others very light.

Some Amerindians even have red skin, for example some tribes in the United States.

I already know the darkest mulattoes are black in many parts of Latin America (and especially those that lack a descent afro-descent population).

We Caribbeans do something similar with the mestizos. The people have the habit to call then indios all the time. But it also depend on the mestizo. Castizos to us are mostly white. If the castizo has visible native traits like shinkish eyes then we call them things like blanco achinao. This happens to the harnizos as well. But harnizos also vary. A lot would probably be trigueno claro to many people.

Yes, they are a shitload of groups in Senegal. Also remember that a lot of them never made they way to the Americas. So googling pictures of Africans is pointless at times.
We didn't get Sahelians for example and the Sahel is extremely diverse in terms of tribes.
