Well, cannot be another valid theory that ancient Balkan people and Romans from Italian peninsula where closely related populations, genetically speaking?

Sometimes the option that seems the most crazy could be the real one, just to contribute with something original, it's not trolling.

what about the language? all our pre-Slavic words are Greek and Latin.
a lot of what we call old Balkan culture could just be Roman Empire heritage..

    Everything is possible.
I got few percent of even some Portuguese users in modeling autosomal genetics with Apricity members.

    Latins and Illyrians were related.
but when i say Romans, i don't mean the original Latins, i mean the heavily Levantine admixed Romans. it's hard to model modern Balkanians without those samples.

It seems like all of Southern Europe and most of Central Europe was similar in the Bronze Age, mostly SW Euro like. Then from the Iron Age to the Early Middle Ages, East Meds, Celto-Germanics, and Slavs completely change the picture.

Literally none of them from the Balkans is SW Euro like in the BA. The Corsican is an outlier in their region.
