it's hard to imagine. not a complete genocide since most people get something like 50/50 Roman/Balkan ratio i think.

Latins and Illyrians were related.
but when i say Romans, i don't mean the original Latins, i mean the heavily Levantine admixed Romans. it's hard to model modern Balkanians without those samples.

It seems like all of Southern Europe and most of Central Europe was similar in the Bronze Age, mostly SW Euro like. Then from the Iron Age to the Early Middle Ages, East Meds, Celto-Germanics, and Slavs completely change the picture.
