I’ve heard before the story of pseudo lapp look in Brittany or Basques.
I think this is normal European variation, probably am Alpine type (maybe remenants of a very ancient type as Basque and Brittany seem refuge areas)
I think the difference with E Europe is due to stronger Uralid and Sibirid influence which should be absent in the west.
