I get your point. However, I think the Chinese are more likely to expand by targeting somewhere in the mainland Americas (maybe Panama, due to the Canal like you said) for their military bases. Why go for the wine when you can go for the champagne?

Well I too am worried about Chinese expansionism. It is just that I don't think the CCP necessarily has the likes of Virgin Gorda and Providenciales at the top of their priorities. The one British Overseas Territory that I do think is of serious concern and should be better-defended is the Falklands...from the Argentines.
