All Latin American and Caribbean countries due to colonialism are Western/Westernized countries. Yes, even Bolivia, Guatemala, Jamaica and Haiti. Most modern day Latinos who aren’t of full or partial European descent are just Westernized Amerindians and African descendants who speak either Spanish or Portuguese

When I said Western I meant the culture of Latin America as a whole actually services from Western European culture(albeit Iberia) even if parts of the region is impoverished and still has shreds of Native American and African culture.

This map is based on economy and literally nothing else. And it's not even properly based on economy since it includes Greece and Portugal but not Slovenia, Czechia, Singapore, Hong Kong, etc.

They are first world countries. Although they lack the Christian cultural core that constitutes western civilisation, both over the last century and a half plus have been remodelled to the point where they are extremely reflective of Western countries.

So they're basically first world non-Western countries.

Latin American countries no matter how "white" European their genetic populations may be, or how Christian they are, they were late to the game with America and Australia culturally so they'll always be Latin America. They are third-world shitholes, plain and simple.

That culture needs to establish itself and not look to "join" the cultural west but rather copy what works and create their own cultural niche using the customs and history they already have.

You can say they're backwards and not culturally part of Western Europe/Anglosphere, but they're part of Western civilization. They just have a high crime rate and lots of poverty.

So because they’re third world countries that completely disregards how culturally connected they are to Western European countries which constitute to definition of what is western ? Economics isn’t the end all to Western it is also a matter of culture which Latin America definitely fits into since we were misled out of Western European countries especially those from Iberia

Those are Eastern European countries, and for the record Latin American countries were colonized by western ones and modeled after them unlike those Eastern European nations
