The younger generation of economists (and ordinary people) cannot think outside the neoliberal economic model - they were taught to think this way by removing all other economic theories from the mainstream. All according to the precepts of Friedman and the Chicago boys

Well, just look at Panama and Chile in Latin America. We've the best indexes and differently from Cuba they are not manipulated

More and more I'm conviced about this. When I was growing up I was a little bit capitalistic, however, now I fully capitalistic. I believe that Capitalism is the only path to success and any change to it to try to make a more egalitarian society will result in chaos.

Moreover, I believe the a soft authoritarian capitalist society is the ideal society. Something like Singapore. I was very impressed which was they have accomplished in short time. Unlike the West the Eastern cities are much cleaner since there's stricter rules for loitering, street ventors. I saw how they created hawker centres to get rid of street ventors. NYC while it has potential has a lot of dirtiness since its very unregulated in this area. A city of the future needs to be more like Singapore.

I also met a Cuban Uber driver and he told me that Education and Health are better in Cuba than in the USA. But then I answer, what is the point of being educated if you end up working in a filed that doesn't require your degree? Moreover, expensive health can be dealt with minor tweaks private insure is not that expensive and worst case scenario is medical tourism.

What people fail to mention when it comes to analyzing Singapore's success is it's successful because it's populated by high iq, hard working chinese people (and a south asian minority). If it had blacks, mestizos, balkanics or eastern euros instead of ethnic chinese people they could be your avarage tropical poor country that begs for donations from rich countries, whines about "white privilege" and colonization(Singapore was a british colony itself). I think most countries on earth can't emulate Singapore's success due to genetic limitations.
