The weirdest movies you have watched?

Please recommend some weird or freaky movies in this thread.


I will start from this Czech movie called Little Otik from 2000, it’s a surreal, gorey flick story about a family and their little son … that is quite similar to Pinokio, but with a child not being so benign. It’s a surreal dark comedy, horror and touching drama in one.



Another one that I would like to mention in the very first post in this thread is called Kynodontas, it’s a greek movie called Kynodontas (Dogtooth) from 2009; also about family, but such that is trying to isolate their grown-up children from external world while imposing serious brainwashing on their progeny. Once they discover that there is something else … it starts getting progressively more eccentric. It’s not a great movie imo, but one in which the director displayed freedom of artistic expression and definitely makes you think about certain issues and problems. At times it looked more like as if you’ve been thrown into the middle of strange performance art.




Surely there is a lot of subliminal or Freudian content that one can pull from it. The movie somehow has been rewarded a special award at Cannes Festival.

I have really wanted to watch it at the cinema, yet they took it off very quickly here - unfortunately, and I realised it has already debuted too late. It was screened in a very small number of cinemas in Poland. I like A24 movies and horrors in general. I have read that it's a good movie, and pretty disturbing at the same time.

Ken Park. Unrealistic, superficial, and above all, extremely boring. Often seen as radical piece of film making, it's just pointless porn and violence. Larry Clark's "Kids" is much better, but not weird like this one.
