Actually he shares more IBD with 4 other kurds not from his specific area than that 1 Punjabi. It’s not really that unusual. I’m sure there are non-Tajiks on your DNA relatives list and not all Tajiks show up on your DNA relatives list

We always have to look at averages in genetics. So let's look at the average Pi-Hat for Punjabis vs the average Pi-Hat for Kurds (keep in mind there are no other Kurmanjis like the subject since we'll remove his close relatives. That will leave us with Feylis only and 1 Turkey Kurd). Ok here's the full table including the ones that scored 0 Pi-Hat.

After removing his close relatives we have the following total Pi-Hat:

Punjabis: 0.0423+0+0+0+0+0+0.0493+0.0303+0+0= 0.1219 / 10 = 0.01219 Avg Punjabi Pi-Hat
Kurds: 0.0736+0.0632+0.0585+0+0+0.0726 = 0.2679/6 = 0.04465 Avg Pi-Hat for Kurds which is quite a bit higher than for Punjabis and if there were more Kurmanji Kurds in the table I'm sure this average would have been even higher.

It's just like you'll not have all Afghan Tajiks tested in your DNA relative list but you'll have many whereas you'll have only a couple of Pakistani Punjabis in your match list.

Apart from the kumanji kurd being as close to some iranian as pak pashtun, i find this relatively very MUCH MUCH likely. Nothing like kurd trying to make balochs the same as kurds, although every single south iranian kit i have, dont themselves seem that similiar to ANY kurd.

Makes sense west eurasians are closer to all east eurasians and vice versa, than both are to SSA's.

Wonder how afghan and pak pashtuns seem like on such IBS/IBD analyses?

Actually he used formal stats, a program called Admixtools which has the dstat and qpAdm programs contained in it. Scientists use it alot more than the program I used here which is called Plink.

The thing is DNA analysis is not an exact science and each program will give you different results. What I do is take each result as a clue.

As far as Kurds and Baloch. We have evidence of Baloch migrations and Kurd migrations from west Iran to east Iran. Also their Kurdish is the closest language to Balochi. I'm sure that both Kurds and Baloch have alot of Mede and Parthian ancestry from 2000 years ago. The difference is Kurds that remained in West Iran absorbed more Caucasus, Anatolian, and steppe related genes. This diluted their Iran-N. The Baloch and to a smaller extent the Kurds that migrated to East Iran picked up ASI and their Iran-N didn't get diluted from picking up the genes that the Kurds in West Iran picked up.

Humans are not pure one thing or another thing. Like they are not stamped made in Iran or made in Kurdistan. That's the reason everyone has people from other ethnicities in their DNA match/relative list. It's because no one is pure one thing.

The difference between the table above sorted by distance and the one sorted by Pi-Hat is that the one by distance is based on all the positions in the genome showing how many SNPs match each other. The one sorted by Pi-Hat is sorted by shared IBD segments which indicates more recent admixture. They are both correct in their own way.

When we take out everything with Pi-Hat = 0 this is what we are left with. The table will not tell us whether the Punjabi has received some more recent Kurdish (Baloch or Iranic) related ancestry or visa versa. It just says that they shared some segment from more recent admixture. Basically this table is useful for figuring out more recent admixture chunks.

Kurd also made some wild conclusions, like most afghans having large amount kurdish ancestry and other stuff, which isnt exactly supported by dna papers either. ALso, no paper has said that modern day balochs and kurds are that similiar as he tried to picture it, only himself had that idea.

And he made this new dna program, which for some reason gave west asians and indians around the same amount of east eurasian, but slightly different amount. He isnt an idiot and knows def more than me, but i just dont trust him too much. I dont care youre about to mention he has some PH.D or whatever, still seems odd.

Also, what do you mean by that? Arent unmixed kurds(yes, i know kurds are a mix as well, but like from there, not being further mixed) a result of iranian chalcolithic, steppe iranic nomad and iranian neolithic, meaning they always had lower iranian neolithic ancestry, while balochs are the same mix that went eastwards, mixed with the ancient natives of south iran and instead got more iranian neolithic through shahr e sokteh farmers(iranian neolithic alike people with aasi)?

Are you saying this based on a large number of verbs and nouns shared between Kurdish and Pashto or are you talking about a Kurdish admixture calculator? Also, I haven't seen any DNA papers out there discussing the migration of Baloch from western Iran.
