Pub named ‘The Black Boy’ to be renamed amid anti-racism protests
July 1, 2020
A Kent pub named ‘The Black Boy’ will undergo a name change to make it more inclusive for customers following weeks of anti-racism protests across the UK.
Shepherd Neame, who own more than 300 pubs throughout London and the south east, say it will now be renamed The Restoration, in honour of its links to King Charles II. Writing on their website, the brewer said it was committed to ‘equality and diversity’ and wanted to ‘create inclusive, welcoming pub environments for all customers to enjoy’.
