Do you think White Privilege and Colorism will be addressed in LA like it is in the USA and WE ?
Hanging out with Americans and Europeans I noticed a lot of them will give non-whites a very nice treatment. There is a sense of responsibility for the past. Therefore, whites will tend to be friendlier to non-whites to prove they are not racist. In all aspects of life from education, dating, friendships, media representation. In fact, I would argue any non-white would have a much better life in the USA or in Western Europe than in Latin America. This phenomenon happens across all classes of society its not just the "liberal whites' but I have also seen it with the working class whites. People like messing with Southerns when I've seen southerners give nicer treatment to non-white than to whites.
It seems that Latin America and the Spanish world is going through that transition as well. It's interesting because of the influence of feminist there is a new concept called, "microracismo" which deals with calling out all these racist beliefs and practices. I'm also seeing the word, "Pigmentocracia" being throw around a lot lately.
