Default Native English-speakers: do you pronounce 'grass' and 'chance' with a short 'a' or long 'ah'?

I use the long 'ah', despite growing up most of my life in the Midlands.

I've heard Scots use both pronunciations, though generally they go for the short 'a'.

    Long-a for both

All Australians say long-a Grass, whereas it's a short-a chance in the broad Australian accent, and a long-a chance in a more refined (Adelaidean) Australian accent.

My mother would still use the short-a for bath when I was younger, but she's dropped that now as Australians only use the long-a for that one.

I've noticed that Kiwis use the long 'ah' more than Aussies do.

Grass with a long 'a'. And chance with a short 'a'.
