Hell, I'm concerned right now and I'm not even a Turk...

NeoOttomanism was a trap. It was promoted by Feto Gulen group and it's foreign backers. NeoOttomanism imply before all a federal state as you know. Erdogan woke up lately and dropped it by now.
    Remember the Ottoman administration:

    Decentralised circus.
NeoOttomanism implies a Kurdish artificial state project, the separation of Thracian Turkey as another Beylerbeylik of Rumelia. That is imperalist plan to undermine and ultimately destroy the Turkish state.

Not to mention that it calls on the hate of Shia and Alevi people, beside anti-Christian views, which would lay the ground for civil war in Turkey and a war between Turkey and the Persian Shia Twelver state of Iran.

All I see is that Erdogan built 600 000 000 dollars(I'm typing it like that so you understand that's where your tax money go) 1,150+ rooms Seljuk styled palace on top of a farm that was donated by Ataturk to the Turkish state. He also invested 2 billion dollars in mosques around the world only in 2019, building the biggest mosque in the Balkans in Albania, the biggest mosque in Bulgaria in Kardzhali and also just found that there is a project to build a big mosque in Skopje, Macedonia too, but currently it's on hold :

That's in direct contrast of what Ataturk wanted for your country. If you really support the progress and legacy of Ataturk and you don't dream of some kind of Islamic Neo-Ottoman empire, then you should kick this pseudo-sultan out and stop the Islamization of your country and his attempts to use mosques as a political leverage abroad.

It really is a matter of ownership. If the Bulgarian state or a private person/organisation owns a mosque they can do whatever they like with it, including putting all the crosses they want on it or remodel as they please.

Cool. He has all the legal rights to do it. The question is should he do it? That's a 1500 years old cathedral. It's a cultural site. Not some random building that he can do anything with, because it's a property of the Turkish state. In my opinion the fear that it will become some kind of Mecca for Orthodox Christianity if he doesn't make it a mosque is irrational. It's used as a museum for almost a decade. It's not an active church. As you said the decision to do anything with it is in Turkish hands. I just hope they do the right thing, because I don't want any religious/ethnic tensions in the Balkans.

It's much easier to hold dominion over Europe if you're a Christian.

He could've easily revived Rome and rightfully have used the title "Caesar of Rome" he and his successors so willfully coveted. Today, Hagia Sophia would have stand as the shimmering beacon of Eastern Roman civilization. Together with his Greek and Serb brothers in faith, he'd go on to conquer Jerusalem in the name of Christendom.
    wtf??: picard2:
