    Is surf popular in Portugal? Here not the most known sport/hobby but with the time starts to be a relatively followed activity.

    Yes, we have many surf beaches, especially in central and south. I love to surf. We also have the largest known wave in Nazare:

    It's popular here since the early 1990's some local surfers have been doing well in international events.

    Good point, there isn't that many... I have never been to other beaches past Alentejo. I surf at Costa Vicentina but that is rlly the only one I know. Other beaches that aren't even surfing beaches... during certain times get huge and dangerous waves too.

    It's really surprising how frequently Portuguese surfers are met. But on the other hand, if you see continental Portugal's coastlines and the fact that the Atlantic Ocean is wetting the shores, this shouldn't be a surprise.

    Well, he is certainly mostly Cm/ Berid, def. not one of those alpinized ones
