Default Accepting Jesus in your heart

I accepted Jesus as my Lord and saviour and repented of my sins about a week ago. Since then my whole outlook has changed. I have began to think differently about sin. The hate i used to have in my heart has gone. I have sinful thoughts occasionally, but it's not wilful. For example, lustful thoughts would come to my head, but i would quite easily stop myself in the tracks. I have been reading the Bible every day, and i am loving it. I pray that the Lord gives me the strength to keep up with this new state of mind. I really think it's the Holy spirit working in me.

The reason i create this thread, is that all people who read it may find Jesus, and that they may turn from their sins, in Jesus name.

Brothers and sisters. I urge you to please think deeply about this. Jesus is the only way to salvation. I want you all to go to heaven.

    God bless.

Yes the world is a dark evil place. Too many temptations. You should go to clear your mind.

I did similar yesterday when I went up this mountain close by. And whilst up there I read John chapter 1. I’ve read it before, but I think it’s a very powerful chapter for anyone to read.

The Gospel of John is about the best place to start reading the Bible I've found, as it introduces one to Jesus in his fullness, as God, and details his life, miracles, suffering for us and death, and resurrection and victory over death and sin. And it lays the foundation of your Christian faith on which to build.

    I second this.

To the OP: I must speak a word of warning about the Orthodox Church, however, since you have that listed in your profile. The Orthodox Church teaches a false gospel, which is no gospel at all (Galatians 1:To6-9).

Simply put, Jesus said that whoever believes on Him has everlasting life (John 5:24, 6:47). Not, "will have everlasting life, if you fulfill certain conditions."

Consider Jesus's words to the Samaritan woman at the well:

    John 4:13-14:

Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:

But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

But works-based salvation systems, of which Orthodoxy is one, would negate Jesus's words here. One drink is all is takes. But the works-salvationists say you must keep drinking. Jesus says the water He shall give shall be in you a well of water springing up into everlasting life! The meaning is that if you've believed upon Jesus Christ, you are eternally secure, as He will not lose a single sheep given to Him by the Father (John 6:37-39, 10:27-29, 17:2).

Got Questions ministries is a good resource, especially for new Christians.

    Thank you Wanderer.

I grew up in the Orthodox culture, baptised as a child, went only to church for weddings and christenings, and sometimes for Easter. But i was never seriously involved with the orthodox church.

All these denominations don't matter. It's about your individual relationship with God. Churches are just a place to congregate with fellow believers.

I'm a Christian first and foremost. And after this coronavirus is over, i need to find myself a church that will keep me on the right path.

Yes, it is helpful to find a like-minded Christian community, so you can grow spiritually among brothers and sisters of the faith. Here is my suggestion: ask God in prayer to put you in contact with a group of believers, so you can fellowship with them. I can guarantee you that he will answer that prayer! Jesus will put you in contact with the right people... his sheep are everywhere, all over the world Even if it is only a small handful of faithful people.

I think Australia has a lot of strong Protestant churches out in the boonies not sure about the city or his area though. I know a lot of American sects are out there.
Those who want to live, let them fight, and those who do not want to fight in this world of eternal struggle do not deserve to live.

Even if this were hard--that is how it is ! Assuredly, however, by far the harder fate is that which strikes the man who thinks he can overcome Nature, but in the last analysis only mocks her. Distress, misfortune, and diseases are her answer.

Indeed Jesus responds to prayers for those who believes in him and that also the prayer will be done.Jesus can do the impossible.
