I think the opposite. Mexican food is hyped mostly due to Americans, it is not that hard to impress them when most of their eating habits consist of fast food. In Portugal and I believe that in the rest of the majority of the other European countries Mexican gastronomy is a complete niche that the majority of people have never tried or have interest in. I see Tacos and Burritos on the same category of other fast foods to be honest, it is just a snack to grab not something I would consider a proper meal.

While my thread was about Tortillas because I was curious since almost every store has them, In reality Tacos and Burritos Is consider the lowest of the Mexican food by the definition of Mexicans. Real Mexican food Is not a snack lol It Is indeed a proper meal, you'll will be surprised the variety In real Mexican restaurants.

Hey! great question, as much I love my country of origin my culture and background , I rather not Mexico Is a failed narcostate they control the government.

But I do believe nothing last , look at the Roman Empire took around 1500 years to collapsed and each region became Independent . Perhaps might happen with several U.S States or even some Latin American regions.
