Anyone ever travel in Africa -Experiences? Which country/area/city is best to travel in?

Yes, forgot about madagascar and some of the islands in the mysterious indian ocean to the west of it. Socotra island for one.


Tanzania and Namibia I know are established tourist destinations for Europeans. Zanzibar in Tanzania.


I've heard some awful things about Cairo and egypt in general, couldn't imagine going.

Why would anyone, in the right mind, ever go to bl.... Africa if you can avoid it ?

The world seems small, and I just feel like I should travel, I do like the sights/sounds/experiences of every place I've gone so far. Sadly for the moment, I have too many responsibilities that will definitely disable me from going to any place that isn't a safe in-and-out in a week vacation.


I have and still do find the journey of earlier humans and the accompanying survival and adventure as they conquered the globe (yes, whoever they were) the most interesting story of all time. Unfortunately we're done with that for now and I think our generation won't be involved in the same process out in space.

I went to Mauritius when I was 10 to see my family there. It's quite safe, the population is Indian and Black mostly and it's very exotic. The climate is tropical and there are wild lizards/monkeys, good beaches and it has an overall unique feel. Would definitely recommend

I keep it to Belgium and the Netherlands in corona times. Ah well, a lot to discover still beyond the Meuse.
