I mean you can get by just by speaking Spanish from Mexico to Chile. Religion doesn’t change either since the region is majority catholic. Going from DR to Mexico to Buenos Aires feels more like going to a different region of the same country considering they’re all Hispanic countries and they kinda line up next to eachother. For a region so large with vast amounts of land mass separating one Hispanic country from another. There doesn’t seem to be much drastic difference among them like in continents such as Asia, Africa or Europe.

Culture is so much more than language. Some countries are similar to each other for example Central American ones or Andean. But honestly there is not much culture or landscape connection between a Dominican R, Peru or Mexico with Uruguay. Let alone say it feels like the same country.

I think we can group countries or regions that are alike, in the case of Uruguay it would be the pampean region of Argentina and southern Brazil. And same applies to other countries. I think LA is too big and rich to say it all looks like the same thing.

Which continent has bigger differences among itself Asia or the Americas ? Let’s be honest here

Those regions are just smaller regions among a bigger region aka Latin America

How can there not be much connection when they were colonized by the same country, have close proximity and would both identify as Latinos(specifically in the US)

Hell there’s even more people in India and China then all Latin America combined

I’m being honest.. And size of the continent is not a matter here.

Again, I assure you the spanish colonization centuries ago and spanish language is not enough to group it all. Most uruguayans won’t feel related to what you say, and Im sure that view is shared by other Latin countries too.

We are all based and founded by an small part of Europe, so its normal to share a lot of things between us derived from the SW Europe Peninsula.

That said, we also have a lot of peculiarities that make us singular but still close cousins and distant cousins.

My impressions is that people looking from other countries would say, "Yes! They are alike they speak the same language, have the same religion and similar culture and most of them are mixed Europe-Native-African. However, the people looking at it from the inside see the differences much clearer.

Hispanic America as a whole could be 5 or 6 different countries easily, see how portuguese colonies kept together

    Mexico/Central America
    Caribbeans
    Gran Colombia
    Andeans
    Chile
    Southern Cone

I’ve been on both sides of that argument and I gotta say that yeah it’s pretty homogenous in comparison to other places. The key components like language and religion are the same throughout Hispanic America, Spanish and catholic. I don’t get what’s so diverse about that

It’s like how in the US you could be in some Euroish city like Boston to a Caribbean influenced city like Miami to a Native American reservation in Arizona. Different backgrounds still the same country
