Now, it has turned into a mosque again, so Christians had to react in 1453, not today if they don’t count museums as sacred spaces.

It’s so silly discussing such a thing in this century, by the way. Religions shouldn’t be objectified that much.
I don't disagree with you in general, but it's sending different signals for it to be converted back into a Mosque in this age. In a way, it was more justified for it to be turned into a Mosque back then, since Mehmet bought the church and saved it from collapse and decay.

No idea why Ataturk was minding religious bussines ,it had to stay the way it was..he was no imam or mufti,no idea why he did that..but it was wrong.I agree though,it is more sensitive to turn it to a mosque today..

Ataturk did something for his own agenda here,, not thinking that the world will exist after him,,,

Hagia Sophia is not like Mecca, its not Bethlehem or Nazareth..its only important because of historical political reasons(just like Cordoba in Spain)
Cordoba was a spanish city, then the arabs came, and conquer it,and then the spanish people took the city again.Cordoba is not like Constantinople.Constantinople was founded by Greeks. Then pass to the romans and after that became the center of eastern roman-grecoorthodoxy world.
Agia sophia is like mecca for all the orthodox world.

That was a political move by Turkey and Russia, both having interests in it.
Turkey dismissed a Greek encroachment attempt to the building, and thus to ownership of the city which exclusively belongs to the Turkish State.
Russia avenged the ''Greek Betrayal'' it faced after losing Ukraine, namely Greek Orthodox Patriarchate in Istanbul (self-declaring being the spiritual leader of all Orthodox worldwide) had treacherously denied that Orthodox Ukrainians were bound to the Rus Orthodox Church based in Moskva.

States only have interests of course, Not friends.
Same Russia seems to be behind the recent Armenian attack in Tovuz, against the Azerbaijani gas pipeline supplying Turkey with Baku gas.

You should also mind your business before judging Turkish State decisions from 1930s.
Do Turks ask you why you Bosnia women who were all in Burqa (like Afghan women) removed their Burqas in 1950, before mating with Serbs and Croats?
Let's say that was normal course of history and modernization.
Do Turks also ask Bosnians why after 1990, with Serbs and Croats leaving the happy socialist dream ship, started to follow CIA/MOSSAD made ideologies like Wahhabism, Feto or Neo Ottomanism with finally showing up and blaming the state of Turkey of not being Islamist enough?

The Turks would not ask you such questions Bosnains, because it would be anachronism....

Considering the geopolitics and political balances of 1930s, the Turkish State made the best decision not to attract any harmful attention back then.

indeed, I ask exactly the same question why Semitic-originated religions sound so similar when praying?

The most fanatic muslims are usually Turkic and Caucasus groups.

That's not true. They made up large chunk of ISIS and terrorists. Depends on what you define by fanatic.
