I dont like the decision as a christian, otherwise its a huge chance if the orthodox nationalist parties and clerics use this. Even AfD in Germany is using it, so Erdogan is somewhat useful for my side.

I can see that it's a gift for right-wing populists to increase their influence. AfD can use this against mosques in Germany. This decision greatly stirs up Islamophobia and especially puts Balkan Muslims and their heritage at risk.

I'm sad for what has become of Turkey under conservative populism. The constitution clearly declares that Turkey is a SECULAR country and can not be under the influence of any religion. Ataturk built this country as a secular Republic because pan-Islamic thought brought our people to destruction.

Well; people who celebrate it can be happy today, but tomorrow they will not be happy because the Z generation is getting largely irreligious, atheist or deist. I have many friends whose parents are strictly religious but they are not even Muslims. Islamist radicals and chauvanists are driving the youth away from religion. In the future Turkey will be ruled by people who do not give a fuck about religion.

The polls are clear. The next elections will be won by the opposition, as happent in the latest election. Istanbul is currently run by a secularist who defeated Erdogan's candidate in a landslide. He is also seen as the potential opposition candidate for the next election.

Anyways I don't usually lurk around here, just came here to check what orthodox Balkan people think about this. I was right. They are greatly agitated as many other orthodox Balkan people who will start targeting Balkan Muslims.

Also; Erdogan was not thinking of such a thing before; when it was brought up he said there is no need for this as he opened many mosques. But there's a bunch of Islamists in Turkey who are trying so hard to overturn everything Ataturk and his revolution have achieved. And Erdogan probably felt he was obliged to do this because he has lost a lot of credit and public support because of bad economy. I assume the next target will be Latin alphabet and the principle of secularism in our constitution. And they will try to make it obligatory for women to wear Hijab and ban alcohol. It's not that they really need mosques or they want to challenge Greeks, they want to turn Turkey into a Sharia state.

Kasidiaris indeed use it.Today he calls the greeks to attend outside of the turkic embassy in Athens.

Neyse, 2023'e şurada çok yok. Artık siyasal islam bitti. Ülkenin hali ortada.
