We have elements of both, but I think we incline to other south American countries, then Brazil.

    Sorry for bad English

Yeah sorta, it’s like what’s left of the old world before the arrival of the Europeans. Mexico at the end of the day is a Spanish speaking colonial country which makes it new world like all the others but the major difference it has with Brazil and the US is that it has a big Native American heritage from former empires. Mexico is kinda like a oversized Native American reservation(although I’d argue Latin American countries preserved they’re native heritage more then the US natives did).

Would you say Colombia is more of a fully new world country Like Brazil that was a destination for European immigrants and aswell as being a major port stop for enslaved Africans or like Mexico being that it has strong ties to its Spanish colonial heritage but at the same time to its indigenous heritage that makes it stand out

To me Brazil stands out like a fully new world county in that it’s similar to the Caribbean and Southern Cone, both regions where it’s indigenous population was decimated and had to be repopulated by immigrants, settlers and enslaved peoples.

I mean Bahia could easily pass as some Hispanic Caribbean nation while Rio Grande do Sul could pass as Uruguay or Argentina

In the case of Venezuela, I would say it is closer to Brazil, but it shares elements with both.

With Brazil Venezuela shares having received a large post independence European immigration (even if lesser than Brazil) and an important African input that Mexico lacks. That without mentioning other cultural aspects like Carnaval, which is super important in Brazil, and it is very present in Venezuela too (even if not to a high extent as in Brazil).

However, Venezuela shares with Mexico the language (obviously) and having an important Amerindian input that Brazil lacks. Venezuela is like half way between Brazil and Mexico in regards to its Amerindian input.
