And he was born in Viseu because you say it so in Zamora they say he was born in Torrefrades, and in all the province they claim so. They even identify the house of Viriato (restored of course)

Calm down lol. I apologize, but I am talking about the documentary and how people mentioned it in modern Spain's territory but not modern Portugal territory. I am not a history encyclopedia either... but most rumors are that he was born somewhere in the Serra de Estrella region.

Well, the debate about whether it was Spain or Portugal doesn't actually matter b/c it was neither, as others have said the territory was all Hispania. I'm just saying that most sources, even non-Portuguese say he was born in modern-day Portugal territory and the documentary didn't point out that at all. Perhaps he could have been born in the modern-Spain territory, but the fact is that no one really knows for certain. All that we know is that it formed an amount of significance that the Romans began calling that territory Lusitania and it eventually formed most of Portugal.

The ironic thing is that you criticized the History Channel for saying he was Spaniard... when you have done exactly the same claiming he was Portuguese...

No, you missed the point. I was criticizing them for not mentioning it could have been Portugal territory as well, and for the reason that the "Lusitanian" identity is much stronger in modern-day's Portugal territory than in modern-day Spain. They could of at least mentioned the possibility as they mentioned only "Spain", that is all.

No, I am referring to your current behavior, that of all the Portuguese. Look your own nickname. Portuguese have taken the terms Luso, Lusitania, Viriato, Lusitanian wars, etc as exclusively own

Well go back into history to see why? I can see why some parts of Western Spain in that Lusitania territory can call themselves Lusos too... but it is a way larger chunk of modern-day Portugal.
