    Nog liever Habsburg dan dat "wij gaan als er problemen zijn gezellig naar Londen" "Huis van Oranje" (wat nog niet eens aan de Willem de Zwijger verwant is) en het liberale zooitje en het links-stemmende Holland dat het land naar de donder helpt. Beter scheidt het zuiden zich af en sluit het zich bij Vlaanderen aan.

    My aunt is living in the Netherlands, her husband is Dutch so they usually speak to each other in Dutch. When they go to Germany (around the border) to do shopping, etc. they use German.

    If you add the number of Dutch speakers from its former colonies (principally Indonesia), the difference is not as great as you might think.

    I speak German in the Netherlands, it gives you no problem whatsoever, they learn it in school and dont mind if you speak it.
