I don't doubt that Cuba was and still is whiter than South Africa. The key difference is that, for reasons that don't even really need explaining, South African Whites generally have little if any non-white admixture, whereas plenty of White Cubans do and more than a few times it shows.

Certainly! Most Cuban whites are mixed to some degree. But by Latin American standards, Cuban whites are highly European and IMO tend to look very Iberian.

According to most studies and individual results I've seen, the majority of Cuban whites are over 80% European - something very rare in most countries of Latin America.

They look pretty typical of Miami Cubans to me. Certainly not all Cuban whites can pass in Europe, but I think that a higher % of Cubans pass in Europe than pretty much any other Latin American ethnicity.

Fair enough. But even if we use the narrower definition of only people who pass in Continental Europe, such people are clearly a larger % of the population in Cuba than in Chile. I'm not sure about how it compares Southern Brazil, Uruguay, and Argentina (although I have been to all those countries), but all objective statistics I've seen suggest that Cuba has a substantial number of whites.

Here a little experiment, y searched "rodriguez" in facebook and filtered people born and living in Holguin Cuba. After that i ordered them accoridng to SSA (my impression, probbly wrong) and then made 3 morphs (one per group).

My impression is that nobody looks really full black and that most of the brown ones must have a lot of euro blood. Plus the first 33% looks full white by canarian standards and this are all born and living in the island

Holguín is one of the least negroid cities in Cuba. They are predominantly european trirracials, and pseudowhites. They are similar to many puertoricans. I have seen some people from Holguín in Spain, and they are phenotipically very similar to people from your photos.
