Personally - I really wonder why we should care how they feel about aything at this moment. White liberals or minorities: I am past the point of caring how they feel and what they think. They hate us all anyway.

Police reform would have been a popular, unifying issue that would have helped everybody, including blacks and even police.
The left forced everybody into a false dilemma and made it about "police defunding to help black people".
And look how it turned out:
Spoiler!
Actual police reforms people were talking about was stuff like wanting an end to qualified immunity, no knock warrants, and they want more body cams.
This enrages liberals who dislike body cams and tasers because they (seriously) believe that they cause more police interactions and thus more police violence.
If Chauvin is found acquitted on all charges, Biden administration will use the outrage to push legislation for police defunding and or "reforms" which amount to "make cops so miserable they quit or retire".
Crime rates in general are increasing due to liberal cities defunding and demoralising police and general social dysfunction.

Police is necessary for keeping order and peace, but it's a job of authority which can be dangerous if given to the wrong person.

You can't have order anywhere if you don't have policing. If you really want to not take law into your own hands, you should advocate for a stronger police presence.
But there's a condition that has to be followed: police should never exercise their given power arbitrarily. They should respect citizens and the constitution. That's what the rule of law is about in civilised societies.
But there should be respect to the authorities in turn, when it exercises its powers legally. If it exercises them arbitrarily, you have the right to protest.
