    I love the French painter of the XVth century Jean Fouquet. I find the Melun diptych of the Virgin Mary with baby Jesus particularly impressive and powerful:

    I find the iconographic theme of the "Lactation of Saint Bernard" extremely funny.

    Saint Bernard of Clervaux, the great Cistercian theologian of the XIIth century, is said to have been fed with the Virgin Mary's milk, after he sang at the top of his voice while praying.
