    War ne sehr interessante Doku, wusste zuvor gar nichts über Ankara, scheint mir ne sehr sympathische Stadt zu sein.

    Naja, die ganzen Hochhäuser haben der Schönheit sehr geschadet. Ich kenn die Doku, meine Mutter ist auch aus Ankara und in einem Gecekondu aufgewachsen. Hab als Kind in den ganzen Baustellen dort im Urlaub gespielt, genau in den Boomjahren. Durch den Verlust dieser Gecekondu hat Ankara an Charme verloren, da es ohnehin nicht die Vergangenheit und Glanz Istanbuls hat.

    Übrigens bei Tuz Göllü sind wir auch jeden Sommer gewesen.

    Ankara used to be a small town. An alternative government to the Istanbul Government was founded here (Istanbul was occupied by Entente) during Turkish war of Independence and Grand National Assembly was founded there.

    After the war was over, and Istanbul government was abolished. Ankara government decided not to move in Istanbul and stay there, and found a new capital from scratch.

    It was a good decision since Istanbul is very crowded today.

    Yes that’s right but maybe it would have been better if they had choose a place without so many steep and arduous hills.

    Yes but when i see some streets in Ankara, i really ask how fire brigade would drive there in. Ankara has also relative flat areas.
