With the Middle East, there's also the fact that borders were drawn by non-Middle Eastern people with no regard for ethnic groups or anything like that, which increases tension, and that makes people poor and miserable too.

I think that Islam came from the natural way of being of these people. If they didn't have Islam, they'd think up something else that fits their way of being. I think the Middle East is underdeveloped because the people there have a tendency to engage in behaviors that make it underdeveloped. But if people with a genetic tendency to drink can overcome it, they don't really have an excuse either. Islam and Christianity both tend to take different forms in different places, and this is due to the way of being of the people there.
I see what you did there. Sometimes when I want to drink my other half gives me the middle finger lol

It's clear why the middle east is underdeveloped (not undeveloped) and that is because of the industrial revolution in the west. That is the main reason the Middle East has been doing worse than Europe for the last couple centuries. And of course there's world war one and the division of the Middle East to artificial states. Of course, with that with the creation of Israel in 1948 and the endless count of wars from that on, the American-led ambitions of the allies of Israel to weaken other states so Israel can be at peace, invasion of Iraq, rise of militias and religious movements etc. Too much to list.

Weird that you say that, when a few centuries ago that was totally not the case for both the middle east & Europe. I don't think it has to do with genetics either. Or at least not directly linked to it.

    Low IQ I would say.

Fact that they're still inbreeding is unbelievable.

Religious fundamentalism. In pagan times Arabs were more developed.

state sanctioned public execution of people for being homosexual.
state sanctioned public beating of women for trying to be equal to men.
    state sanctioned pedophilia.

are these religious teachings or racial teachings? do they apply all across the middle east or not? if they do not apply in certain middle eastern countries, how do those countries fair developmentally to others where they do apply? Iran use to have a social construct like many European nations, but no longer. Why?

Pretty much all of the Islamic countries have either the death penalty or criminal persecution for homosexuality. I guess Tunisia is the only one that's tolerates for them.
