Not all are same ways over weights as British in Northern Europe. Scandinavians have stayed quite good shape no matter of our pretty high standards of livings (already pretty long time). The wealthy of people (easy life & chances to eat more than one needs) is one of the key matters, but will not explain this problem fully.

Baltics (Estonians, Latvians, Lithuanins) are also fine/ok. Hopefully they will stay so in the future as getting more and more money to use.
