I do not think that in a hypothetical Portugal vs. Spain war, Portugal would be easily defeated, the Portuguese soldiers would possibly have a combat morale higher than the average of the Spanish troops, generally Portugueses have a greater conscience of homeland and are more united as a people, than the Spanish population.

This weak point of Spain has always been used against us on many occasions, to weaken us.

Yes it's true, but still what would be the available man power of those two ? 1/4 of Spains. Also professional soilders are 4x higher in Spain, and those are not just randoms.
