I'm not Russian lol, i live very close to the Balkans tho, easternmost Italy.
I would say it's sandy blonde, a beige/hazel colour basically. I would say it's part for the course in Russia, it's not rufous but it's not ashen either, it's not black and it's not platinum blonde.

I agree with gianmarioricco, this is fairly common everywhere in Europe, from North to South. For instance, my father has black hair but he was asked many times if he was from Russia (by Russians).

With people talking Russian and having Russians citizenships (hard to say 100% sure their ethnic backrounds) ... common/typical; many are even darker/almost black haired.
