Be careful (I'm not talking to this user, but to all of you) with the sunlight vs. shadowy photos when it comes to eye colour or hair colour terms. You have to decide which is the true colour. I see a lot of photos in the Sun of people barely mid brown being said to be 'red haired' or photos in the shadows from true and legit mid brown being said to be 'dark brown to light black'. Again everything is about angles and lights. But your photo seems correct.

Mine is dark brown to black, as you can see. It is the textbook example. Yours, not. It is with no doubt at all, and clearly, mid brown. And I think any, I repeat, any, Scandinavian would say your hair is black or even dark. Nobody there would tell you are dark. Even I've met people from Norway who told I was lighter than other brown haired people just because my beard or even my skin were lighter than the average european. Darkness is not only measured by the hair colour but skin, beard, body hair, eyes... Being blond with a 18 VL, a 15 VL and green eyes... Idc... is not being lighter than a chestnut-haired guy with a 12 VL and light brown eyes. I think that being darker or lighter it's about more features or traits than we usually tend to think and that you are asking about. Way more.
