Well, I disagree. The separation is already present in the Gospels. Jesus is not there to establish a government, a legislation (contrarily to Muhammad, Islam). For example, Luke 12,13-14 illustrates the separation: “Someone in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.” Jesus replied, “Man, who appointed me a judge or an arbiter between you?”

Communist East Germany was trying to legalise homosexuality before West Germany for instance.

The article missed to tell, in order to increase the coolness of Islam, that it was mainly slaves, young Christian boys kidnapped during the Muslims’ permanent razzias against their non-Muslim neighbours, that were the partners… There’s the famous story of Saint Pelagio, beautiful Christian young boy, tortured and murdered by the caliph Abd al Rahman III, because he refused his “amorous” as well as converting to Islam. You can see quite a lot of such homosexual relationships with young boys in Pakistan or Afghanistan, where it is tolerated. Doesn’t it show how advanced they are? By the way, just to say, in medieval Christian Spain, Juan II was homosexual and in love with Alvaro de Luna. Unfortunately, he was not an underage slave, but an aristocrat.

My conclusion: Islam has tolerance (and it’s a euphemism to say so) for homosexuality, for debauchery, and for some of the lowest human instincts.
Kind of reason why they failed. Whenever abnormality becomes norm you got civilization on decline
