As far as I know, in the main historical narrative of 30 Years War, there is not really that much mentions of the magnificent hakkapölliittas. This idea I first learned from excellent Swedish historians, and I think the Swedes might be right. Of course, the fact that they are not mentioned much, does not necessarily mean that their role in the actual battles and brutalities against civilians was non-significant.

The reason why it looks like they are forgotten is that during the Swedish era also Finns were known as Swedish people. Search Swedish light cavalry in thirty years war and you have found Finns.

Okay, but the Swedes told me Hakkapeliittas were nonsignificant. So I don't know who to trust here. Hmm

I wasted yesterday my time to find out historical no-brainers from the the Murican ultra-sentimental internet, full of twaddling and very little of facts easily findable from history books. But now this one. Why the East Finnish component is prominent in all admixture tests? For the same reason why 5 million Balts represent all East European Slavs as an East European component and a few thousands Nganasans all Siberians. It happens because admixture analyses stick into most inbreed population, because they are homogeneous and simply to compose. This, combined with the fact that admixture analyses are not full scale implementations of any structure, leads to a minimum common divisor maths where the variance in other groups are neglected.
