I would say the report is quite interesting.

I remember I did this one a LONG time ago, for me I thought the result was so poor I didn't even save it and closed my account. I was new to this stuff then, and in hindsight it may not have been as poor as I thought it was at the time.

So, as far as West Asian (I assume you mean some kind of recent ancestry, like last 200-300 years), I'd suggest taking the G25 Montenegrin and/or Serbian average, run it thru various calculators, and compare to how you score. Because your automsomal DNA is significantly Balkanic, those pops will be a good bench mark to see if you have West Asian above and beyond.

I see what you mean, of course most of my ancestry is undeniably from the Balkans this is pretty clear at this point. Now I just concentrate on the other, smaller things which are not that clear yet.

You do have a bit of West Asian ancestry, and it's probably connected to your minor East Asian ancestry.

I'd say that what you're seeing there is actually some sort of Central Asian or far Eastern European ancestry. Something Tatar-like.

And it's exactly what I got here: Tatar + Caucasian (interesting nevertheless)

Almost yes, it is. Since Hungarians are genetically mix of East & South European ancestries, your results look typical for Hungarian. It's interesting you're more Central Asian than West Asian

Yup, that's some solid evidence.

So on the first calc the Serbian average is 2%, which means the normal range might be something like 0-4%, you easily clear that.

On the second you really crush it, however overall you get broken down very differently than Serbian so that can be a matter of balancing your components, these are just models after all. Still, you get so much on this one, it's seem very significant.

It would be cool if you can find someone with the knowledge to isolate West Asian ancestry in a calc model designed to capture that.

And I back up what CS said about looking for West Asian matches, that is another major clue.

If you do indeed have elevated West Asian ancestry, as current evidence points to, the next question is from when? is it a recent ancestor or something from the distant past, events like the honfoglalas and onwards?

I got around 9% Central Asian on this calculator (mostly Tajikistani Tajiks) which is cool but seems inconsistent with other calculator results.

It's a good question my friend, I'll see what I can do. Do you think it's high enough to be considered ,,more recent'' ?

I just checked many Modern Balkan samples with this Sorcelow model. I get more West Asian than all of the Balkan samples, even more than the Albanian or Bulgarian, only some Southern Greek samples get more West Asian than me. So at this point Romanians and Hungarians are out of question since those populations get even lower West Asian.

I really don't know what's going on here, I believe it can be explained with the Conquering or a Turkic ancestor who carried West Asian and it was preserved in my father? Maybe.

Well, maybe some of it is noise in your case. In my case I'm not sure, it almost correlates with my Turkic or Tatar percentage I get on other calculators, so I guess it's right. So far this is the most detailed ancestry report that I've got and I can't see anything suspicious why I shouldn't believe in this.
