I was born in Florida. Having been to California three times, assuming you can afford it, California has more open-minded special interests groups. The people in Florida are kind of vain and into beaches and working out. There is also a sizeable contingent of rednecks.

Florida is better for living permanently, though. It's a low tax state etc... which means its more libertarian :

I like both states, but California has more things to do and has a wider variety of scenery to explore.

The most important fights for freedom are not over drugs, sex or other pleasure activities, but rather over more subtle issues like speech, gun control, and -- most important of all -- taxes. The reason for this is that pleasure activities have a natural constituency -- the people who indulge in the activity -- who can be expected, in one way or another, to fight for freedom in these areas because it is very much in their personal interest to do so. This is not to say that such fights are not important, for they very much are -- it is just to say that they are not priority.

The Panhandle in the North has the best beaches anywhere. So white you must have good sunglasses.

Yeah, those places are great-- The Panhandle is my second home. Fact is, though, Destin gets quite miserable with traffic, having only one route... Santa Rosa Island to the East toward Pensacola is much quieter, even whiter beaches... I really miss it, haven't been able to get out there for three years now...

California is personally a bit better for me but both are beautiful states.

California
- Pros: Diverse in terms of geography, demography, interests, occupations and activities. Generally more chill than people in FL so gives a better vibe overall.
- Cons: VERY expensive. A bit too hot and dry in several areas. Wildfires and heat strokes are fairly common in southern cali. Fairly bad drivers but tbh it's worse in FL.

Florida
- Pros: Green landscape, beautiful beaches and cities. Miami looks more striking and modern than any city in cali, including SF and LA. cheaper than cali as well.
- Cons: Hurricanes, humidity, power outages still happen occasionally. Besides Orlando, everglades, and the beaches not much to do there. Whatever's in orlando can also be found in cali (SeaWorld in Sandiego, Disneyland and Universal in LA). Barely any major companies there compared to Cali. Terrible/Rash Drivers. I've been to atleast 30 states and no group pissed me off on the road as much as miami's drivers.

Florida is flat as a pancake. Nice beaches but boring topography. Nothing there like Santa Barbara or Big Sur for example, mountains by the beach.
