In what percentage is Chile white?

Well, due to the fact that I saw some info about Chile's economy yesterday in the anti-communism thread, I started to look into Chile's racial makeup. I saw that in Wikipedia about 89% of Chile is white or Mestizo. In detail, it wrote that 55-65% of the population is white and 25-30% is Mestizo. How white is Chile really? Because it seems that Chile is the most developed Latin American country due to the high percentage of whites.

Chile is not white in any way, it is absolute and mainly a mestizo country.
Chile is not the most developed South American country neither, and all what is achieving is thanks American, Spanish and other Euro investors.

There's no way it's 50% white.
It could be around 10% pure white. The rest belong to the mestizo spectrum.
It's less white/european than Uruguay or Argentina.
Even Brazil has more european admixture than does Chile(but the former doesn't appear very european due to black admixture that is lacking in chile)

I don't think it's only 10% white. More people than that percentage have over 80% European admixture.

Well, there, many folks look fully European in looks, without a trace of Amerindian features. So, it implies that these individuals have a low percentage of Amerindian.

Chile is genetically less euro than argentina or uruguay yet more developed than both. The gap isn't big though. One has to consider what type of european immigrants each country received. Argentina received lots of southern-italians who aren't exactly the peak of european civilization... European input in Chile is Iberian+minor British/German/Croat etc.

Argentina received lots of North Italians, if you want to make a distinction between them. Probably even more than of South Italians.
It is said that while USA received Sicilians and other Southerners, Argentina received Genovese and other Northerners.

Chile is not more developed than Argentina and Uruguay. Chile just is receiving a lot of mainly American and Spanish investments, plus other European ones.
Do you think seriously Chile without these investments would develop itself and alone?
