I am myself a Sunni Muslim and I have lived my whole life only with orthodox Muslims. I don't want another Muslim neighbor. I would go with a Chinese neighbor if that matters at all for the sake of variety. On the other hand I don't care who is my neighbor? what is his race? what are his beliefs? as long as he lets me live peacefully.

Thats because of the historical past,christianity and islam have always fought over the first place in world order in the past.Not many problems,not much contact and no wars with the chinese

Here syrians and lebanese immigrants(most of them druze and maronite christians) were very positive.
I like chinese immigration but it's newer so I know them less than the first group.
But I find positive aspects in both...

I'd choose Chinese.
Few apartments in my condominium are owned by Chinese people and they are nice people.
I like their mentality.
But to be honest, there are many Arabs in my city and they are not "bad choice" as neighbours. Just muslim mentality and their way of life is totally alien for me.
Also atheist/agnostic Arabs would be the good choice as well as Chinese.
