Default How does Votic language sound to you?

This moribund Ugro-Finnic language with less than 100 speakers is spoken in Russia and Estonia. I find it quite charming, like Estonian with something quirky to it. It's a shame that it's becoming extinct, but there's a surprisingly large amount of material in it on youtube considering its small number of native speakers.

Sounds quite easy, I am able to pronounce without problem. Is it Uralic?

Closer Finnish than Estonian. I can easily understand it and can't say the same about spoken Estonian.

Came to mind (and I'm not native in Finnish).

    More close than ''Rauman giäl''?

Yes, but I understand also Rauma giäl, because I am from the Bothnian seaside and the old Bothnian Finnish was basically a Satakunta dialect with Swedish loan words.

    Rauman giäl:
    Kat ko kat kara puuhu

    Finnish:
Katso katti (or kissa?) karkasi puuhun

    Correct?

There is also a surprisingly large amount of likely Proto-Germanic (from Iron Age influence) vocabulary in Finnish but those words do not make sense for Germanic speakers.

Those ancient loan words are mostly remains of the proto-Germanic stage conserved into Finnish. After the proto stage connections between Baltic Finnic and Germanic speakers broke and those words "froze" into Finnish. All Swedish loans are thousand(s) years newer from the Swedish era after the 14th century.
