Some videos showed fireworks going off before the explosion, not sure if that started the fire that then resulted in the big explosion, nitrate as you said. Aftermath,

Yep, the magnitude of the explosion points to more than just fireworks.

What surprises me most is that the storage of large quantities of explosive materials is allowed in any built up area. Just a small mistake can have devastating consequences.

We will see in coming days the "why and how".
