I think she handled things badly tbh, interest and mortgage payments went through the roof for everyday people, handled the miners issue badly etc

i was brought up during the thatcher years..

i remember the late 70s and the massive difference in society a decade later

the 80s changed the UK more than any other post war decade

from a societal point of view, those years did alot of harm....the cult of materialism, breakdown of extended families, loss of christian values and church going, loss of community spirit ...all these trends accelerated massively during that decade

the somewhat better things that happened during the thatcher years were home ownership becoming available for most people in society, streamlining of the economy (although the UKs manufacturing base was destroyed, and the country became a service sector economy)

my recollection of the start of that period ...late 70s.......living in a council flat in Liverpool as a youngster, the community social club, going to church every sunday with my mum.......later on my parents were able to buy a house for the first time, get a car, etc.....by the end of the 80s much of the UK we know today was in place

Indeed, economic well-being and social well-being are definitely not the same thing. (Of course, during this lockdown both have collapsed, but that's another matter).

I think her Right to Buy policy killed Old Labour and perhaps turned them towards social issues, focusing less on economic issues.
