You must just be in good health as for all other "soldier job". But ehere are some specific stuff like
* You must know swimming 25 m without asistance
* Have a "Body Mass Index" between 20 and 30 kg / m² (BMI = Weight / Height²) *
EXAMPLE: Body Mass Index of a man measuring 1.75 m and weighing 72 kg
BMI = 72kg / (1.75m * 1.75m) = 23.5 kg / m²
* being in good health and not suffer to some big sickness.
Just here the discipline and the physical training will be far more violent and intense.

Here is a youtube channel of the legion. It show some trainings and informations about it:

If you are serious about it, I would advice to learn some french basic. It might help to you to not have to think to much about the language and just focus on other aspect.

I always figured the hardest part of being in the FFL, at least during training, is the other recruits. You do have to question why some would join. From what I've heard, there's plenty of 'bullying' etc.... And a lot of Russians.

One older man from my Island was a Legionare - he is quiet withdrawn guy nobody knows much about and there are lot of stories about him, many probably false. People are little afraid of him but he's very OK guy who never makes problems. He is pretty small in stature but very tough looking and he said smaller and thinner yet athletic guys are better fit for Legion than bodybuilder types.
I don't think you should join though - there is more to life than serve as foreign mercenary and possibly give your life, youth and health for nothing.
Think about other career opportunities, is my sincere advice.
PS: I think many of hem have drugs and alcohol issues - ex Legionare from my Island is an ex drug user.
