To be fair to Jews, sympathy to the Lebanese people from the Jewish people was outpouring and Israel was among the first countries to offer aid to Lebanon.

I read in a Greek article today that Hezbollah as early as 2016 had threatened to blow up the Israeli port of Haifa and create a mini Hiroshima, and that they exerted pressure on the Lebanese to not destroy the ammonia nitrate.

Hezbollah is a political party in the Lebanese Cooperation Government. It is also a national liberation movement, as its action in the 1980s was directed against the Israeli occupation forces. But it is also the Shiite paramilitary organization, Iran's armed arm, with proven involvement in terrorist acts.

Ammonium nitrate doesn't explode innocently, by her own, without external intervention. You need up to 300 degrees celsius warmth to have ammonium nitrate blasted. It is obviously not an accident.

Who orchestrated the show?

Israel is always first suspect in the region, but there might be some other complicity. When you look at what followed the attack, it has been a visit from Macron. And even more interesting, Lebanese are talking about French soldiers to be coming to Beirut and Lebanon to secure stability.

It smells bad.
Christians are roughly 1/3 of Lebanon. Mainstream and dominant type of Christians are the Maronites (you have some Armenians and Orthodox too but irrelevant in the balance of power). Maronites are an Arabic speaking population whose clerical class accepts the spiritual authority of the Pope in Vatican. That makes the Maronites a Catholic people, thus close to France.

Add to that Lebanon is hot spot for civil war.

It might be that France is preparing to deploy militarily in Lebanon and side with Maronites in a potential upcoming Maronite vs. Hezbollah civil war.

Shia Muslems make up 40% of Lebanon's population, they are the single strongest and most numerous population group. And have the strongest militants group, with Hezbollah.
That can explain French intervention.
