En español si digo "no tienes que ser muy listo para..." no tengo que referirme a tí exactamente, si no que ese tú es más general, y tampoco significa que esté llamando tonto a nadie, simplemente es una forma de decir que algo es evidente, pero claro, en español no es necesario añadir el pronombre personal "tú" porque el verbo ya tiene la segunda persona del singular, no como en inglés, que como el verbo no tiene ningún indicativo de persona por sí, hay que añadirle el "tú".

Me pasó alguna otra vez, ese "tú", que usamos como para referirnos a alguien impersonal, no necesariamente al que tenemos enfrente, me ha traído varios problemas semejantes.

Además tiene un nombre específico ese uso del "tú".
