Yes, it was partially spread by Romans throughout continental Europe. But these men were descended from immigrants from the Levant. J-L70 is one of the sources of Levantine ancestry in Greeks and Italians. I have two threads dedicated to J-L70 on Anthrogenica - which you may be interested in viewing when they're back online. J-L70 itself was formed in the Levant during the MLBA as evidenced by the Basal branches in Jordanians and Palestinians. Many Middle Eastern subclades were spread by the Romans just like J-L70, including J1.

Too lazy to post the screenshot. It has a hotspot in Venice and a less intense spot in Poland, near the border with Germany.

True, and Arabians also descend from the J1-P58 peoples that migrated to the Arabian peninsula bringing with out both basal West Semitic and Central Semitic dialects which evolved into the numerous west Semitic languages that either belong in the basal West Semitic group called MSA(modern South Arabian) or Central Semitic dialects which evolved into the Central Semitic languages of Arabia like Old South Arabian languages, Didanitic, Hisaitic, Taymanitic(some say that it should belong in the North-West Semitic language like Hebrew and Aramaic), and last but not least the Arabic language.
